Just One of the Many Random Thoughts I Have Now…

DISCLAIMER: Much has happened in the past months and whatever that would be read from this point on are products of the imagination… Or…

I was talking to a few close friends just last week when we came across love and relationships, which I personally think is the most notorious and infamous topics in drinking sessions.

Just a random thought at that time…

Scenario: A committed (in a relationship for years and all the complications that go with it) guy who has been in a happy, almost perfect, relationship meets this feisty and everything-about-her-is-not-describing-her-current-girlfriend girl. They spend time together and realize a lot of things (including the epic this-is-what-I’ve-been-missing-in-my-life drama). They get together and realize more things (including the much more epic what’s-next and it-has-to-stop-but-we-can’t).

What happens?

In the classic idealistic realm, the prince charming sweeps the maiden off her feet and brings her to her castle and makes her the kingdom’s princess. Nah… Simply said, when people fall in love, they’d go out of their comfort zones and crazily cry over the fact that they’ve found what they’ve been looking for. They leave everything behind them, including existing relationships, and elope to wherever. They’d live in the farthest place and build their own family. They’d be happy about the idea that they have found true love in this lifetime.

Heck.

That sounded a bit too much.

You know what sucks in this story? There’s another take on what would happen.

And sadly, this is really what happens most of the time.

This is the realistic claim. The guy who has always thought he was happy with his girlfriend would realize he could be happier with the other girl BUT there are just too many complications to it. He can’t hurt the one who loves him. He couldn’t just let go of their years together. Simply put, he couldn’t leave the girl he has built his dreams with. This is the girl he knew all along as the only one he’d spend his life with. The most practical thing to do is to live those dreams and be contented with the love that they have for each other. He’ll realize that the other girl was a fleeting memory, a test to their relationship, and unfortunately, just another girl who had to pass in this lifetime.

And what happens to the other girl?

We better not know. She might shrug it off. She might still be thinking of the what-ifs. She might have found someone new right now. She might… Or, she might be sobbing as she writes this post.

MY 2010 IN A NUTSHELL

Again, it took me centuries to write again. I remember in college when all I do was blog my days away often forgetting assignments, papers, etc. Now that I have all the time in world, I couldn’t even write a single entry. Oh well.. Got this in FB and thought that it’d be a good way to end the year and welcome 2011. YEAH!

1. What things did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before?

a lot. drink like crazy and throw up after. have the worst hangover ever. be addicted to coffee. work hard and mean it. have a boyfriend. love someone as much as i love my gadgets (haha. joke mu, babe). love my job (like i really do). miss my parents like hell. do stupid things i regretted doing. host a christmas party. spearhead activities at work. complete simbang gabi. attended to my sister after she gave birth. watch my nephew grow up every week. and a lot lot lot more. i love 2010, not because it was perfect or great but because it was memorable and full of learnings.

2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

didn’t have any for 2010. somehow i have predicted that i won’t be able to do them anyway. and no, i have no new year’s resolutions lined up for 2011. i plan to be more decisive though and less emotional. 

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

yep. my sister, ria. it was one of the bestest things that happened in 2010.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

nope.

5. What countries did you visit?

none. yeah, i know, poor me. haha.

6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?

courage to stand by my decisions and contentment to just appreciate everything i have now. in short, htc hd 2, nikon dslr, and portable hdd.

02.14.2010 - barney. naksssss. hahaha.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

good question. am speechless for the first time in this post. haha. hmm.. perhaps being commended for things i do that i am not very well aware of. 

9. What was your biggest failure?

lying. enough said.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

the usual dysmenorrhea, acid attacks, heartburns, and cold.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

shoot. i can’t even afford to buy myself luxuries. haha. perhaps those i bought for people i love. 

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

mine? haha. kidding aside, definitely my friends. friends from work (abs-cbn), previous work (metro), college (kaye,tesa,cess), high school (superfriends), community (luray), etc.

13. Whose behavior appalled you and made you depressed?

 bernie’s. hahaha! and insensitive people who brings out the hell in me.

14. Where did most of your money go?

food. surfing.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

being in-love. aww..

i. happier or sadder? happier.

iii. richer or poorer? a bit richer because i haven’t paid bills yet. haha.

more restraint on things i know wouldn’t do any good.

‘facebook’-ing. drinking. nagging.

welcomed it by watching the fireworks alone in our street and wishing i had my whole family with me.

yep yep. and it made me genuinely happy

glee. gossip girl. and all kapamilya shows. hahaha.

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?

none at all.

oh shoot. did i even read anything?? the chronicles of the wind-up bird by haruki murakami.

definitely bruno mars. the beatles covers.

LOVE from bernie. TRUST from my family.

contentment.

none. hahaha.

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

worked. helped out in the kapamilya awards all day. ate dinner with bernie and dion. had coffeeand cake with dion and friend. am 23 and am proud of it.

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

hmmm.. why do i have to repeat my answers? haha. contentment with the things and people i have and more money. wahahahaha.

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?

a bit too formal for me since it is required for work. haha.

hahaha. nice question. i have no idea. haha. hmm.. perhaps my family who keeps me grounded and loved, my boyfriend who reminds me how difficult i could get but still accepts me, my friends (especially dion) who reminds me ALWAYS how to have fun within my limits, and my job that gives me a sense of responsibility over my life.

chuck bass for a time for being the most romantic bad boy of all time. hahaha.

bernie conrad liwag. hahaha.

the 2010 elections.

my mom and dad. my ate jen, kong rodel, and aumar. my koya, ate jmee, and aj.

hahahaha. there are people in this big bad world who’d still love you for who you are no matter what. AND, TRUST NOBODY. hahaha.
